Smell gorgeous day and night

March the 27th is Mother’s day, so maybe you’ve been wondering what to buy for your mum this year. Well, here at VSM Pharmacy we have a great selection of perfumes. And we’re telling you this for a good reason.

There are benefits to wearing perfume which means it’s not only a nice gift, but it can influence your mum’s wellbeing (and anyone else you want to treat). This article is a scientific study showing that scent definitely has an influence on our moods.

Perfume makes you feel good

If you’re wearing a perfume you love, it will give you a confidence boost and make you feel better about yourself. It’s great to know when you greet a family member or a friend with a kiss on the cheek, they will get a whiff of your fabulous scent.

Perfume tells people who you are

If you wear the same perfume to work, for example, the smell of your perfume will make people immediately think of you. A slight hint of your perfume will remind everyone who has just been in the room

You’re a great advert for your favourite perfume

Have you ever smelt someone’s perfume and thought, “Wow, that’s lovely.” If they like it, they’ll want to know the name of it so they can buy it for themselves.

Perfume can stop you from feeling stressed

According to an article in the Daily Mail fragrances reduce stress. Scents that contain ingredients such as:

  • Lavender
  • Amber
  • Eucalyptus
  • Rosemary

Perfume can make you feel energised

Perfumes that contain citrus notes such as lemon, orange or grapefruit will have a refreshing scent. They can be used to boost your energy and your confidence. We recommend Hugo Boss Alive and Nina Ricci Nina

You can have a choice of perfumes

Because different perfumes can affect your moods, you can have a choice of perfumes so you pick out the one that will work best for you that day. For example:

Going to the gym

Long-distance travel: Pick a perfume that will make you feel refreshed. If you can’t take your perfume with you then choose a long-lasting scent that you won’t need to reapply. We recommend an energising perfume like YSL Black Opium or Jimmy Choo Illicit Flower or Vera Wang’s Princess

A work meeting

If you need to feel calm and you want to reduce stress then wear a perfume that contains a calming ingredient, like the ones we’ve mentioned earlier. You can also add peppermint or cypress which is said to improve memory and concentration. Anais Anais by Cacharel is a good choice, and so is Shalimar by Guerlain.

Going on a date night

You want something spicy with amber or musk to give you an air of mystery! We recommend Calvin Klein Euphoria or Gucci Bamboo or Rihanna Rebelle and Marc Jacob’s Daisy

Getting a good night’s sleep

A spray of perfume before bed can help you relax and wind down. You can try Femme by Hugo Boss or Guerlain’s Samsara

Perfumes are affordable

You’ll find a perfume for whatever budget you have. You can buy a good perfume for under £10.00 or spend over £50.00.  Cheaper perfume may need to be reapplied during the day as the smell tends to fade faster than more expensive perfume, but the differences between the two are slight.
