We only treat moles confirmed as benign at your free assessment. Any mole that looks suspicious — changing, bleeding, irregular — is referred to your GP for proper investigation, never treated.

Is cryotherapy right for my mole?

Moles (nevi) are common, usually harmless growths — but not every mole should be removed in a pharmacy, and the assessment always comes first.

What are moles — and how does freezing remove them?

Moles, medically called nevi, are common skin growths that can appear anywhere on the body. They’re usually brown or black, flat or raised, and most are completely harmless — but any mole that changes should always be checked by a doctor before anyone considers removing it.

Cryotherapy removes benign moles without needles, cutting or stitches. A precise jet of extreme cold freezes the mole tissue; a small blister forms, dries out and falls away over a couple of weeks, revealing new skin underneath. The treated area can look lighter at first and takes a little time to blend in.

The procedure itself takes only minutes: you may feel a brief stinging or burning sensation during the application, similar to ice held against the skin. Healing is typically quick, and we review the site four weeks after treatment as part of the price.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to remove a mole at a pharmacy?

Yes — for moles that are clearly benign. Every appointment starts with a free assessment against strict criteria, and we do not treat any mole that looks suspicious: those are referred to your GP for proper investigation. A correct diagnosis always comes before treatment.

Does mole removal hurt?

You may feel a slight stinging or burning during the few seconds of freezing — most people describe it like an ice cube held firmly on the skin. No needles, cutting or stitches are involved.

How long does healing take?

A blister forms over the mole, then dries and falls away within a couple of weeks, revealing new skin. The area may look lighter at first and gradually blends in. Your price includes a four-week check to confirm it has healed.

Will the mole come back?

Cryotherapy has a high success rate for benign moles. Occasionally a mole needs a second application — a follow-up treatment within 6 weeks is £29.99 if required.

What if my mole looks suspicious?

We refer you to your GP the same day, free of charge. Warning signs include change in size, shape or colour, itching, bleeding or crusting — these always need medical investigation before any removal.

How much does it cost?

£69.99 for the consultation, treatment of one mole and the four-week check-up. Additional moles treated in the same visit are £29.99 each. The consultation alone is free if we can’t treat you.
